Privacy Policy
Current Layer Intelligence LLC · Last updated September 14, 2026
Current Layer Intelligence LLC ("we") builds software for clients and operates this website. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it. It is short because we collect very little.
This website
thecurrentlayer.com is a static site. It sets no tracking cookies, runs no advertising or analytics scripts, and does not build profiles of visitors. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address and requested page, for security and reliability. If you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can reply.
Our internal applications
We build private tools for our own use and for individual clients. Where such a tool connects to a third-party account, it does so only with that account holder's explicit authorization, and only for the purpose that account holder asked for.
Google account access
One of our internal tools ("canvas-sync") requests access to a single Google account's calendar in order to create and update calendar events. Specifically:
- It uses the
calendar.eventsscope, which permits reading and writing calendar events. It does not request access to email, contacts, files, or any other Google service. - It reads existing events solely to avoid creating duplicates and to correct an event whose date has changed.
- Authorization credentials are stored locally on the account owner's own computer. They are not transmitted to us, to any server we operate, or to any third party.
- Calendar data is not stored, sold, shared, or used for advertising, and is not used to train any model.
- Access can be revoked at any time by the account owner at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately and permanently ends the tool's access.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Client data
When we are engaged to build or maintain software, we may handle data belonging to that client. We treat it as the client's property, use it only to perform the work, and do not disclose it except where the engagement requires it or the law compels it.
Retention and security
We keep information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires. We take reasonable measures to protect it, though no system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date.
